At the age of 17 I was offered the position of a nanny for two doctors’ boys who were then aged 2 and 6 months. I stayed in this position with this family for many years and class them as part of my own family to this day! During this time I also took on a job-share looking after a baby boy for a golfing professional.
After that I went on to look after a teachers’ three children – again for many years and became godparent to their youngest.
Then I started family of my own and I moved into doing occasional work with a high-end nannying agency. I was offered interviews in London, but my heart was at home with my son so I decided to stay in Worcestershire and work where I could take my own son with me.
This is when I became a childminder, working around my own family. I now have three children and have looked after many children during my 25-year working life. I have a wealth of experience working with babies and pre-school children.
I am now looking forward to progressing in my chosen career – and Little Learners’ has enabled me to carry on doing what I love, working with children. I am eager to complete the training and gain some certificates for childcare.
INTERESTS: Alongside my family and childcare work I also love crafting and have my own Etsy shop, Always Sparkle Gifts. I have a cat, Pudding, and a passion for vintage interiors.
