After leaving school with A Levels I embarked on a (BA Hons) Journalism Degree in Southampton and worked in this field until becoming a mother in 2004. In 2008 with two small children, I was looking for a change in direction and became a teaching assistant at a local school. The head at the time suggested I undertake the qualification to become a fully qualified primary school teacher, so I embarked on a Graduate Training Programme at Worcester University whilst teaching for her alongside. It was here that I decided to specialise in EYFS.
I successfully taught at three local primary schools before having our third baby in 2013. Having worked from home in the journalism/marketing field for the ensuing 5 years – I felt the pull back to my passion – working with children.
My history with Little Learners began in 2006 when my eldest started at the nursery. At the time we lived in Bewdley, but the short drive was worth the provision and opportunities the nursery allowed. All three of my biological children attended Little Learners and have very fond memories of their time here; my daughter Mia also returned as a school leaver and works with us as an Early Years Educator.
The opportunity to work at Little Learners arose in March 2019 when I became Deputy Manager, and was promoted to Manager in March 2022. In December 2024 I bought the nursery and became Managing Director which really is a dream come true. I am committed to nurturing children and providing the strong foundations of the EYFS to give children the very best start in their learning journey. My strengths lie in relationship building and a genuine love for children. I find it extremely rewarding to see children come through our doors and flourish before moving on to their primary school journey with confidence, curiosity and a genuine love for learning.
