Little Learners’ is open to children as soon as they turn 2. We are open from 8am – 6pm (5pm in school holidays) for 50-weeks of the year. Our provision is owned and managed by a fully qualified primary school teacher who specialises in Early Years.
We provide Government-funded hours at either 15 hours term time, 30 hours term time or stretched funding at 22.5 hours per week for the 50-weeks we are open across our opening hours.
- Our fantastic private nursery has a main classroom with a plethora of resources including home corner and Montessori-based activities. We have a Quiet Room used for group work, sleep times and 1-1 work as well as a separate sensory room, all-weather outdoor canopy, our own private forest school provision and a huge well-equipped garden.
- We have our own toilets and changing facilities helping little ones to progress with their personal care at their own pace.
- We boast 6 excellent Early Years’ staff with our Deputy also having an Early Years Degree.
- As an extra service to our families, we also offer wrap-around care to pupils in years Reception – 6 at Bayton Primary School. We do not offer wrap around care to those aged 3 who are not enrolled at our nursery.
- Breakfast is offered to all our children between 8am and 8.45am consisting of cereals, toast and fruit.
- After-school club runs from 3.20pm to 6pm and includes an afternoon snack such as homemade cake, filled bagels, soup and sandwiches. All food is prepared fresh daily by our Level 3 qualified cook Ann. There is no additional cost for these food items. A two-course hot lunch is optional at an additional cost for nursery children and holiday club users.
- It is our ethos that the Early Years’ Foundation stage is the fundamental building block for young children supported by the Development Matters Guidelines. We are much more than just ‘childcare’ offering learning opportunities alongside love, care and support in a family-type way.
- We allow our nursery children to engage in child-led play, scaffolding their learning and development through teacher-led activities, small group work, 1-1 interventions and our clear curriculum goals delivered across the 7-areas of the foundation stage: Physical Development, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language, Mathematics, Literacy, Understanding of the World and Expressive Arts and Design.
- Our ratios are above those recommended by Ofsted and each child is allocated their own keyperson (teacher), no more than 6 children allocated to any one adult meaning the very best care, attention and learning opportunities for your child.
